Creative Writing and Oration

The Creative Writing and Oration strand at TCP World Academy exposed the students to many of the concepts that are displayed on the Ohio State Proficiency Test. In preparing the students for this exam, students were engaged in daily journal entries, writing creative stories, creating poetry, and writing and directing their own plays. These were a few of the tools used in steering the students in the right direction to aid in passing the proficiency exam. The proficiency exam standards for writing include; producing various modes of writing, using pre-writing strategies to produce coherent and organized literary pieces, along with understanding the writing process thoroughly. As the Creative Writing and Oration strand came to an end, the students appeared comfortable in expressing their thoughts in a precise and organized fashion. Those students that participated in this strand have information needed to score well on the proficiency exam.
